What are we looking for?
The Role:
- Support the Engineering Department with all daily admin tasks.
- Maintenance and control of all Contractor information.
- Completion of work permits to ensure Company Procedures are followed, obtain Risk Assessments/Method Statements when required.
- Complete Inductions with all Maintenance Contractors when required.
- Experience with PLC
- Upkeep the diary system for the Engineering department.
- Update and monitor the PPM system.
- Telephone liaison with internal and external contacts.
- Undertake administration duties for the Maintenance Manager as appropriate.
- Follow the company Health & Safety guidelines as outlined above.
- Respond appropriately to Health & Safety queries and requests.
- Promote the adoption of good health & safety practice at all times.
- Monitor, report and escalate progress of all ongoing or recurrent health and safety incidents, concerns and defects to the Engineering Manager.
- Ensure full risk assessments are conducted and findings documented on all personnel files.
- Monitor expiration dates for internal and external documentation, certification, and licenses.
Key Accountabilities of the role – What I do (The below is not exhaustive)
- Complete the Outstanding Action Report for Health & Safety Meetings.
- Manage the Risk Assessments and complete appropriate paperwork again making sure they are displayed for the Health & Safety Meetings.
- Foster a constructive relationship with all departments and ensure lines of communication are open.
- Complete any necessary training required for the role.
- To be “audit-ready” at all times, ensure that health & safety and document control are in line with customer specifications and always up to date.
- Maintain a respectful and constructive working relationship with colleagues and managers.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and give feedback to production regarding expected downtime and planned corrective actions
- Work with production team at all levels to guide and train staff to identify potential improvements to OEE, breakdown reduction and improvement of machine standards and operation.
- Work with the engineering team to test, install and commission new equipment.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance and other equipment servicing as directed by the engineering manager
- Work closely with the fellow engineers and the production team to develop a dynamic and positive attitude to the challenges of a busy production department
- Focus on the key performance indicators (KPIs) identified by the Engineering Manager, and work towards achieving and surpassing agreed targets
- Ensure that all necessary documentation completed in full and on time.
- Identify areas of inefficiency and waste. In agreement with the Engineering Manager, implement and review the agreed changes
About You: How I Do It
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- City & Guilds BTEC Level 3 Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition or willing to work towards
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Permit to work
- IPAF Mobile Vertical (3a) Mobile Boom (3b)
- Managing confined spaces or willing to work towards
- Pneumatics, Hydraulics and TIG & MMA welding
- Manual Handling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of MS Word/Excel
- Food Safety Level 2
- HACCP Level 2
