We're now looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Production Team Leader to join our team in Leicester.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production professional with leadership experience to play a key role in a busy food manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll lead and motivate your team to deliver production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and health & safety. You'll be a visible presence on the shop floor, driving performance, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring our products meet the standards our customers expect.

5 days out of 7

What You'll Be Doing
As Production Team Leader, you will:
Ensure the Health & Safety of yourself and the team at all times
Lead, coach and support production teams to achieve daily production plans and targets.
Work closely with the Production Manager to deliver efficient production schedules and resolve operational issues.
Monitor production processes, equipment performance and product quality.
Take ownership of key performance indicators including quality, productivity and service levels.
Manage attendance, performance, training and day-to-day people matters.
Ensure production records and documentation are completed accurately.
Carry out production sampling, monitoring and data recording in line with audit requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and drive continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively across departments and shift teams.
Support team development through coaching and on-the-job training.
Provide support across different production areas when required.
Health, Safety & Food Safety
Safety is our priority. You'll help create a safe working environment by:
Promoting a strong Health & Safety culture.
Following and enforcing HACCP, GMP and food safety procedures.
Maintaining high housekeeping standards through a clean-as-you-go approach.
Keeping walkways and emergency exits clear.
Reporting accidents, near misses and equipment issues promptly.
Ensuring equipment is safe, maintained and fit for use.
Supporting site audit readiness through excellent hygiene and documentation standards.
Additional Responsibilities
You'll also:
Manage stock control and complete weekly reporting.
Provide operational cover across High Care, Low Care and Despatch when required.
Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Carry out GMP inspections and implement corrective actions.
Lead monthly production briefings and monitor follow-up actions.
Plan ahead, communicate proactively and resolve issues before they impact production.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Previous experience within a food manufacturing or production environment.
Experience in a Team Leader or Supervisory role.
A good understanding of Health & Safety, HACCP and food hygiene standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
The ability to prioritise workloads and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
A positive, flexible and hands-on approach to work.
A passion for continuous improvement and developing people.

This role involves working in a busy manufacturing environment and will require you to:
Undertake manual handling tasks.
Bend, lift and move products safely.
Work in a fast-paced production setting.
Access confined areas where required.
