At a time when family and friends would usually get together to celebrate, Noble Foods was keen to focus its efforts on putting a smile on elderly residents’ faces by delivering hampers to their doors that were packed full of festive goodies, as well as essentials such as eggs, juice and tinned goods. With support from other local businesses – Pilgrim’s, Tesco, Spar and Wefco – the packs were sent out to over 70 local residents, brimming with goodies.

Kirsty Black, HR Business Partner at Noble Foods, comments: “The feedback we have had so far from the hampers that were sent out has been fantastic. It is an absolute pleasure to give back to our local community, particularly at Christmas time and when it has been such an unusual year. The team here at Gainsborough have been incredibly passionate about looking at ways to help residents and those in need, and we were touched by the support from other businesses as well, who were keen to input once they heard about our plans. The fact that we have been able to make someone smile or lessen the load for them in some way is what the festive season is all about – friends, families and communities coming together as one.”

Meryl Talbot, Manager at Whitton’s Mill retirement home, received the hampers for residents and comments: “I have had lots of feedback already from tenants saying how pleased they were with the gift hamper, and several have commented on how very generous it was, no-one was expecting so much. The kindness and thoughtfulness from Noble Foods is to be commended. After such a lonely year for many, coping with the Covid-19 restrictions, it has brought a bit of cheer to the hearts of so many.”

Continuing the goodwill, colleagues at the Gainsborough site also raised money to buy selection boxes for all the children and adults that attend local specialist academies Warren Wood and Aegir – a festive staple for many.  In addition, Noble Foods has donated turkeys to The Gainsborough House Community Centre, which provides a range of valuable services to vulnerable and at risk people, ensuring visitors can enjoy a traditional festive meal this Christmas.

The Milling Team have also been busy over at Belle Park Mill who created hampers for charities supporting disadvantaged families in their local communities. The hampers were given to Blidworth Church who then distributed to families in need.
